Spring 2 Topic - 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles'

This half term we will be looking at different types of transport. We will look at transport in London, transport used in other countries and design our own modes of transport. Here is an overview of what we will be doing.


Communication, Language and Literacy

 Car registration plates: our names

·    Vehicle poems.
·    Maps / instructions for moving beebot…
·    Describing vehicles to friends.
·    List of what to take on a journey.
·    Passports / Oyster Cards.
·    Transport / Travel songs and rhymes

Physical Development

·         Large scale vehicles: boxes.

·         Vehicle manoeuvring- cones / obstacles / stop / go

Jack and the Beanstalk

This week we have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been doing lot's of learning, including...

experimenting with planting beans (will they have grown into gigantic beanstalks after the half term holiday?)...

and working with friends to build tall beanstalks.
